FAQs
FAQs
- Is this type of wall light good for creating focused task lighting?
- Does a wooden accent on a light fixture require special care?
- What’s the ideal number of wall lights for a small hallway?
- How do I know if my wall can support this fixture?
- Can this be installed upside down to create an uplight effect?
- Is a matte grey finish prone to fading over time?
- What kind of bulb gives a soft, non-glary light in this shade?
Yes, directional wall lights with cone-shaped shades are ideal for task lighting as they concentrate light downward, perfect for reading corners, study desks, or kitchen counters.
Wooden details should be kept dry and occasionally dusted. Avoid strong cleaners or damp cloths to maintain the wood’s natural texture and finish over time.
For small hallways, one wall light every 6 to 8 feet is typically enough, depending on brightness and wall color. You may only need two fixtures for a standard corridor.
Solid walls like brick or concrete can easily support lighting fixtures. For drywall, use proper anchors or locate a stud to ensure secure mounting.
Some cone-style fixtures can be flipped for uplighting if the mounting hardware allows, but make sure the bulb and shade are safe in that orientation.
Matte finishes can fade if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods. Indoor placement away from harsh UV rays helps preserve the color for years.
Choose frosted or milky LED bulbs to diffuse light gently. These bulbs reduce glare and eliminate harsh shadows, making them ideal for exposed-shade fixtures.
